Today is the day.
The people of Sarawak will elect their representatives to the state legislative assembly today. Whether the Barisan National will succeed in defending their long power holding in the state or whether the Pakatan Rakyat will be able to create history by winning over the heart of the Sarawak people by winning the election, will only be known today.
Barisan is hoping to win the state election and thus, forming a state government after the election is over. Not only that, Barisan is also hoping of maintaining a two third majority in the House. Pakatan on the other hand, intends to loosen the grips of Barisan power in the House by denying the Barisan the two third majority they wanted. Both sides give assurances and promises that make people wonder whether they can eventually delivers those promises. The campaign of the both team seems to be smeared with dirty tactics and personal attacks on the contestant and the parties leaders. To both Barisan and Pakatan, this election signifies the acceptance of rakyat of their policies and the approval of rakyat of their administrations.
May the people of Sarawak choose their representatives wisely and may Sarawak and Malaysia be sejahtera and makmur forever
